2026 Prizegiving & Family Day

The energy at our 2026 Annual Presentation and Family Day perfectly captured exactly why we play this beautiful game.

Before diving into the team photo gallery below, we want to recap the incredible moments, announcements, and well-deserved recognition that made this season a year to be grateful for.

More Than Just Football

We kicked off the morning by reflecting on our core philosophy: football is a vehicle for unity, character, joy, confidence, and opportunity. Our coaches shared powerful stories highlighting compassion, resilience, and teamwork from the season, proving that junior football has a genuine impact on physical and mental health in our community.

We also celebrated the recent success of a couple of our teams:

• GDLFA Knockout Cup Champions: A massive congratulations to our Girls team who beat Stella 1-0 to secure the cup.
• GDLFA Level A2 Champions: Our incredible U17 squad secured the league championship. This core group has been together since the club formed in 2017, making history by winning their league at the U10, U11, U12, U13, U15, and now U17 levels. They later went on to win the CHAMP of CHAMPS tournament, cementing their legacy in junior Durban football history!

Thank you to our team & supporters

None of this magic happens by accident, and we took time to express our deep gratitude to the people behind the scenes.

• The Founder:
We congratulated BUFC founder and U17 coach, Steve Welsh, honoring his years of personal sacrifice in building the club’s strong foundation before handing the reins over to our current management team, Gareth and Dan at the end of 2025.
• Our Sponsors:
Generous financial and service donations from Waxy O’Connors Ballito, The Media Factory, Smart Aerial Systems, NutriVita, Weaverbird Web, and Mr. Ice made it possible to provide transport, kits, and league registrations to over 30 talented children from surrounding areas.
• The Community:
We owe a huge debt of gratitude to our parents and team managers for their immense generosity with boots, lunches, and away-match transport.
• Our Facilities:
A massive shoutout to Jaques from Crawford International North Coast and Phelelani from Curro Salt Rock High School for accommodating our club at their world-class facilities week in and week out.

Coaches + Coach of the Year

Thank you to our Coaches for their dedication and passion this season and for giving our players and parents incredible moments of joy, and for helping our players improve and develop.

Congratulations to Coach Learnmore from the U6s who was peer-selected as the BUFC Coach of the Year.
